Admissions Requirements

The following are the course requirements for the academic year:

FULL TIME COURSES FOR JANUARY INTAKE

1.   ACADEMIC AND APPLIED SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

1.  SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY LEVEL 1

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) credits which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics

and Science / Physics and Chemistry

MATURE ENTRY: 3 "0" Level credits plus a recognized field

             certificate in a relevant                           DURATION: Three (3) Years

          2. SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY LEVEL 111

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:   Science Laboratory Technician (Certificate)

DURATION: One (1) Year.

2.  BUSINESS STUDIES DEPARTMENT

1. DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

2. DIPLOMA IN MARKETING

3. DIPLOMA IN PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

4. DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER STUDIES

5. DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION/BUSINESS MANAGEMENT LEVEL

DURATION:  3 years

6. ZICA TECHNICIAN LEVEL

7. BANKING & FINANCE

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: (1-7 ) School Certificate equivalent with Credits

in five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics

8. ZICA LICENTIATE LEVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Holders of NATech or any other qualification as

Determined by ZICA     

   9.  ZICA PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Licentiate Level, Accounting degree from a

Recognized institution or any other qualification as may be approved by ZICA

10.  BUSINESS MANAGEMENT  (ABE LEVEL 4)

11. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT STUDIES (ABMA/

12. COMPUTING & INFORMATION SYSTEMS (ABMA)

13. CERTIFICATE    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Full G.12 Certificate

14. ADV. CERTIFICATE (for 13 & 14)      ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Certificate

15   DIPLOMA (13 & 14)                  ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Adv. Certificate

16.  FOUNDATION IN ACCOUNTING

   DURATION:  Six (6) Months per each Level   

17.  TRADE CERTIFICATE IN COMPUTER STUDIES

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Full Grade (12) Twelve Certificate

MATURE ENTRY: No formal qualification but working in a related field

18.  CERTIFICATE IN COMPUTER SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Five (5) Credits which should include English

Language, Mathematics & Science

DURATION:  1 Year

19.  DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: certificate

DURATION: 1 Year

20.          CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PURCHASING & SUPPLY (CIPS)

(CERTIFICATE, FOUNDATION, ADVANCED DIPLOMA & GRADUATE DIPLOMA)

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: 4 ‘O’ Level credits or better including English

 3.  COMMUNICATION SKILLS DEPARTMENT                                                                               

          1. ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced (for 1 & 2)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: know how to read and write in own language

DURATION:  Six (6) Months to Intermediate Level & 1 Year for Advanced Level

3. CERTIFICATE IN LIBRARY STUDIES & INFORMATION SCIENCE

DURATION: One (1) year

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A full G.12 Certificate with at least 3 credits which must

Include English Language

4.  DIPLOMA IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE

ENTRY REQUIREMNTS: 5 school credits including English.

5. HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHERS DIPLOMA

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: For school leavers a minimum of 4 credits & a merit in English

DURATION: Three (3) Years

6. DIPLOMA IN LIBRARY STUDIES FINAL   ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Certificate

DURATION: Two (2) Years

4.  EDUCATION DEPARTMENT              

        1. ART TEACHERS DIPLOMA

2.  MUSIC TEACHERS DIPLOMA

DURATION: Three (3) Years

3.  DIPLOMA IN MUSIC

4.  DIPLOMA IN ART

5.  DIPLOMA IN SOCIAL WORK

DURATION:  Two (2) years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:   Five (5) Credits which must include English Language.

MATURE ENTRY:  Three school Certificate credits plus 2 years working experience

6.  CERTIFICATE IN FASHION AND DESIGNING

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A Full Grade Twelve Certificate

DURATION:  Two (2) years

5.  HEALTH SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

    1. DIPLOMA IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

2. DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY

3. DIPLOMA IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

4. DIPLOMA IN RADIOGRAPHY

DURATION: Three (3) Years (1-4)

5. DIPLOMA IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Credits in Five (5) subjects including

English Language, Mathematics, Biology & Science/ Physics, Chemistry.

6.  PHARMACY ABRIDGED (LEVEL 2)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Certificate in Pharmacy Dispensing

DURATION: Two & Half (2 ½) Years

7. ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN MEAT AND OTHER FOODS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Diploma in environmental Healthy

DURATION: One (1) year.

6.  MEDIA STUDIES DEPARTMENT 

1. DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

A Merit in English Language & Credits in four subjects which must include

History & Geography.

MATURE ENTRY: Three (3) ‘O’ Level credits which must include English

Language & a certificate in a relevant field and or two years’ working

experience   DURATION: Three (3) Years.     

2. PRINT TECHNICIAN

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) O’ Level Credits including English Language, Mathematics & Science.

MATURE ENTRY: Three (3) ‘O’ Level passes including English Language plus

two years’ working experience. DURATION: Two & half (2 ½) Years  

REQUIREMENTS:

All prospective applicants should submit the following items together with the Application form:

 - Photocopy of Grade Twelve School Certificate/ Statement of Results.

- Photocopy of National Registration Card/ Passport 

- Self – Addressed Envelope with a stamp on. 

 IN ADDITION: 

- Disabled applicants to attach photocopy of Medical Certificate of Disability.

-  Mature Age applicants (who are in employment), to submit a letter of Recommendation/ Commitment to sponsor from the employers, and or Certificate (s) in the relevant    field.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST ENSURE THAT NAMES ON ALL THE DOCUMENTS 

TO BE SUBMITTED CORRESPOND (ARE UNIFORM) WITH THOSE ON THE NATIONAL REGISTRATION CARD/ PASSPORT, FAILURE TO WHICH, THEY MUST SUBMIT AN AFFIDAVIT OF OATH FROM THE COURT.
