(1) Application for Financial Aid /Donated Scholarshipsfor Prospective Undergraduate Students


Application for Financial Aid for Academic Year 2017/2018

(a) Returning National Servicemen reading the iBLOC modules 

You may apply for Financial Aid from 14 October 2016 to 16 January 2017 and be considered for the NUS Study Loan1. Please apply via the Undergraduate Financial Aid Portal under (1) Prospective Undergraduate Students and select Academic Year 2017/2018 Semester 1 using your full-time undergraduate admission application no. and PIN2. You will also be automatically considered for Financial Aid for the Special Terms (if applicable) and Academic Year 2017/2018.

(b) Returning National Servicemen reading the Special Term modules 

You may apply for Financial Aid from 14 October 2016 to 1 April 2017 and be considered for the NUS Study Loan3. Please apply via the Undergraduate Financial Aid Portal under (1) Prospective Undergraduate Students and select Academic Year 2017/2018 Semester 1 using your full-time undergraduate admission application no. and PIN2. You will also be automatically considered for Financial Aid for the Academic Year 2017/2018. Please note that you will also be considered for the Financial Aid Package4.

(c) Prospective Students/Returning National Servicemen reading the Academic Year 2017/18 modules 

You may apply for Financial Aid once you have applied for admission. Application will close on 1 April 2017. Please apply via the Undergraduate Financial Aid Portal under (1) Prospective Undergraduate Students and select Academic Year 2017/2018 Semester 1 using your full-time undergraduate admission application no. and PIN2.


1 The NUS Study Loan will help to pay for up to 20% of your tuition fee. You can apply for the Tuition Fee Loan and Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to pay for the balance of your tuition fee. More information on these schemes can be found at our website as mentioned above. . 

2 This set of admission application no. and PIN was given to you when you applied for admission to NUS full-time undergraduate course. Please do not use the set of admission application no. given to you during your application for the iBLOC Programme or Special Terms. 

3 The NUS Study Loan will help to pay for up to 20% of your tuition fee. You can also apply for the Tuition Fee Loan, Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA), CPF Education Scheme and/or Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy to pay for the balance of your Special Terms tuition fee. More information on these schemes can be found at our website as mentioned above. 

4 The Financial Aid Package comprises the NUS Study Loan, NUS/Faculty Bursary, CDC/CCC Bursary, MOE Bursary, NUS Student Assistance Loan, Residential Programme Bursaries/UTown Bursary and the Work-Study Assistance Scheme. These schemes can help pay up to 100% of your living and accommodation expenses, if you are found eligible. More information can be found at: http://www.nus.edu.sg/financialaid.

(d) Prospective Undergraduate Part-time Students 

You will be informed via email through your faculty when Financial Aid opens for application.

Application for Donated Scholarships for AY2017/2018

Prospective students will be considered through their application for admission to NUS. No separate scholarship application is required. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email by 31 August 2017.

Please refer to your respective faculty’s website for the application details for scholarships administered by the faculties. If you are successful, you will be notified separately by your faculty from August 2017. For further enquiries on faculty-based scholarships, you may wish to contact your faculty directly.

(2) Application for Financial Aid for Existing Undergraduate Students


(a) Application for Financial Aid for Academic Year 2017/2018 

Application is open from 1 February to 1 April 2017. Please login via the Undergraduate Financial Aid Portal under (2) Application for Financial Aid for Existing Undergraduate Students, Academic Year 2017/2018 Semester 1. 

(b) Application for Financial Aid for Academic Year 2016/2017 (Part-time) 

Application has closed. If you are in need of financial assistance, you may login to state the reason(s) for your late application and proceed to apply accordingly. We will consider your application on a case-by-case basis. 

(c) Existing Undergraduate Students (Part-time) 

You will be informed via email through your faculty when Financial Aid opens for application. 

Application for Donated Scholarships for AY2017/2018

Application is open from 1 February to 1 April 2017. If you are also applying for Financial Aid, please select both schemes at the point of application. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email by 31 August 2017.

Please refer to your respective faculty’s website for the application details for scholarships administered by the faculties. If you are successful, you will be notified separately by your faculty from August 2017. For further enquiries on faculty-based scholarships, you may wish to contact your faculty directly. 

Application Form (Summary) and Supporting Documents for Financial Aid

The Application Form (Summary) and supporting documents are to reach the Office of Financial Aid (by post/hand) within one week from the online application date. 

You are also advised to login to view your application status or check your email regularly to avoid missing any important message. 

Note: Students who are offered admission without the MOE Tuition Grant will not be eligible for Financial Aid throughout their entire course candidature.
