School of Education

For more than a century, the School of Education has prepared educators to make a difference in the lives of children and adults. Founded in 1909 as the College Courses for Teachers, the school addresses some of the most challenging problems facing education today through graduate and doctoral programs; research and development activities; external partnerships with school systems, educational entrepreneurs, and health care-related organizations; and collaborative connections to the broader Johns Hopkins research community. Ranked as the No. 1 graduate school of education by U.S. News & World Report, the school houses three research centers: the Center for Research and Reform in Education, the Center for Social Organization of Schools, and the Center for Technology in Education. The school’s nationally renowned Division of Public Safety Leadership provides degree programs that foster current and future public safety leaders.
