Technical University of Munich: Fees and Financial Aid
Studying costs money. Those who cannot afford to pay for rent, food and student union fees on their own or with help from their parents, have different options for financing their studies - from BAföG and student loans to a part-time job or scholarship. We have gathered all the information and contacts you will need on the subject of fees and financial aid.
STUDENT UNION FEES
On 24 April 2013, the Bayerische Landtag reached the decision to elminate university tuition fees. As of winter semester 2013/2014, students are required to pay only the student union and basic semester ticket fees in the amount of 118,50 Euro.
Student union fees must be paid every semester before students are permitted to enroll or re-enroll. Fees are also due for students taking leaves-of-absence from their studies.
The cost of student union fees is determined by the Munich Student Union in accordance with its by-laws. The university collects these fees on behalf of the Munich Student Union according to Art. 95 Abs. 5 Paragraph 1 Bayerisches Hochschulgesetz and transfers the collected funds to the Student Union. 118,50 EURO PER SEMESTER: THE SEMESTER FEES
The basic fees must be paid every semester before students are permitted to enroll or re-enroll. Fees are also due for students taking leaves-of-absence from their studies. An exemption from these fees is not possible.
The basic student union fees amount to 52 Euros per semester.
