UNIVERSITY OF MILAN: EVELOPING BATTERIES FOR THE FUTURE
Marco Natali, a doctoral student at Sapienza University, won the “Leonardo 2016” Innovation Award with a project on the development of innovative electrodes, made with hybrid carbon and silicon nanostructures.
These materials permit the creation of a lithium battery prototype with a significantly longer life to power our smartphones, notebooks and computers.
The project was coordinated by Marco Rossi, a Lecturer of Experimental Physics at the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering (SBAI) and at the Centre for Nanotechnologies Applied to Engineering (CNIS).
The “Leonardo” Innovation Awards, now in their tenth edition, aim to enhance and encourage the pursuit of scientific research, innovation and technology.
