U-M+Detroit
Detroit is not only Michigan’s most important city, it is the birthplace of the University. We were founded there in 1817 and have been partners ever since. Many U-M students, faculty, and alumni are dedicated to working with Detroit communities, nonprofits, and businesses to create a better tomorrow and a better world.

The Victors for Michigan campaign ensures that the University can develop the leaders of tomorrow and address the most pressing, complex challenges of our time. With a goal of $4 billion, the campaign seeks to support three priority areas: student support, engaged learning, and bold ideas.
